Drizly operates the technology that brings together the consumer and the retail liquor store. In some cases, the transaction details will show the name of the local store you ordered through as the merchant of record for the purchase. Depending on how the store is set up, you may see a charge for Drizly-storename.
For legal reasons, Drizly collects these funds separately and they do go directly to Drizly as a business. There are prompts that explain these fees on the checkout page. They are also charged as a separate transaction from the items in their cart and any additional tax withholding charges. The states that require tax withholding are CO, CA, MA, NY, NJ, IL, IA, MD, DC, WA, DC, AZ, CT, FL, GA, IN, KY, MN, NE, NC, OH, OK, PA, & TN.
